Paragon Universal Role-Playing Game
Paragon is a whole new take on the HDL system, with dramatically expanded rules, a complete magic system, integrated cybernetics rules, and most importantly, a totally revamped Active Delay combat system. Under the hood, it’s still the best of the original HDL system, with point-based character creation, customizable characters with Backgrounds and Weaknesses, cards for both character-building and in-game effects, and the underlying HDL dice mechanic. But the new Paragon rules take the game to new heights, expanding rules to 334 full-color pages.
The new rules are even more flexible and adaptable, with countless minor changes to rules, expanded Backgrounds and Weaknesses, and page after page of details for game realism and options.
The original HDL settings, Perfect Horizon, Demongate High, and LUCID: Dreamscape Reality, are currently being redeveloped. Expect LUCID and Perfect Horizon: 216X to be available soon. Demongate High is receiving a major overhaul, more than doubling the number of powers available to students, tripling the number of demons, and adding in detail about the angelic denizens of the Heavenly Realms.
Upcoming game settings also include:
- Infinite Vector, a deep-space science fiction story set in the universe of Perfect Horizon, with an ever-growing roster of playable alien species and a new option for “super-powered” individuals, the life-energy known as Vitalia.
- The Embers of Pyre, a post-apocalyptic medieval fantasy setting with an unparalleled range of playable races alongside new and expanded options for magic.
