HDL Player-Created Quarterly

What is it?

Each quarter Tremorworks gives you, the players, a chance to develop our official HDL setting content. Send in your stories, artwork, characters, plot hooks, maps, technology, creatures, rules, and adventures for possible inclusion in the quarterly player-created setting expansions.

The HDL PCQ is your chance to help us develop the worlds you game in. By submitting your own content, you build upon the settings we’ve already created, and get the opportunity to drive the direction of the HDL settings and storylines.

How Does it Work?

Every three months, we will present a title and description of an upcoming HDL setting expansion. Then, at the end of the quarter, we will select the best submissions and put them into the expansion. The completed expansion will then be available as a free online downloadable, or as an ink-and-paper book at a reduced cost. Everyone who submits content that we select for inclusion will also receive a free copy of the “real” book.

Submission Guidelines

Content submitted each quarter must adhere to the following guidelines. Any submission that does not may be disqualified, or possibly saved for inclusion in later supplements,

  • Content may be of any of the following types:
    • Starting or experienced characters in the form of character sheets
    • Location descriptions
    • Maps (see Images, below)
    • Plot hooks or adventure ideas, from one sentence to one page
    • Adventure modules
    • Optional rules
    • Setting-based items (technology, weapons, computer programs, etc.)
    • Short stories or “flavor text”
    • Images: black-and-white line art (360 dpi) in JPEG (maximum quality) or TIFF format
  • All written content must be typed and in RTF, TXT, or DOC (Word) format.
  • Please spell check and proofread all submissions!
  • When submitting adventure modules, please be sure the module works and has undergone at least one test run.
  • Content must be original, and not infringe on any copyrights (material based on or including existing Tremorworks content is acceptable) or be based on real people or organizations.
  • The deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM on the last day of the quarter (March 31, June 30, September 30, December 31). Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered for inclusion.

All submissions are subject to approval and editing for adherence to guidelines.
